Last night, a gridlocked Congress shut down the United States government for the first time in 17 years over a spending bill.

The implications of the dysfunction in Washington are severe — both for businesses across the country and the recovering American economy.

But business leaders aren’t staying quiet — share your views on the government shutdown and how it will impact your business.

Scott I., a business leader from St. Louis, Missouri shared his story and expressed the uncertainty his customers are feeling.

“The events of the last few weeks and days with government shut downs and possible debt ceiling problems, have already begun to instill seeds of doubt in to our company and in our customers as well. This is horrible to see, as we are just now beginning to get our footing, and could live without these unnecessary and entirely self-made shocks to the system.”

Business leaders know that political uncertainty and Congress’ inability to pass legislation to fund the government are slowing our economic recovery and hurting business’ bottom lines.

That’s why we need you to add your voice — when you speak out, members of Congress, the local media, and your peers listen.
