The Virginian-Pilot: Local small-business leaders cheer White House talks

When Ulysses Turner left the White House on Friday, he was eager to explore new investment in Hampton Roads.

The CEO of Atlantic Apartment Rentals and Development Co., which builds multifamily housing primarily in Norfolk, spent the day with 27 other Hampton Roads business leaders who met with the Obama administration to discuss ways to help small businesses grow. The visit convinced Turner that the economy would head in a positive direction this year.

Winston-Salem Journal: Three Triad business leaders visit White House

Three Triad business leaders were among the North Carolina voices heard by Obama administration staffers last week as they discussed the financial and regulatory challenges facing small businesses.

Randall Tuttle, a partner in Trade Street Capital Partners of Winston-Salem; Pam Whitaker, president of Key Resources Inc. of Greensboro; and Dean Naujoks, the Yadkin Riverkeeper, participated Thursday in a White House roundtable discussion with 45 North Carolina business officials, mostly from the Triangle.

Allentown (PA) Express-Times: Allentown Mayor Ed Pawlowski, Easton Mayor Sal Panto Jr. headed to White House for jobs forum

Allentown Mayor Ed Pawlowski and Easton Mayor Sal Panto Jr. will participate Wednesday in the Northeast Business Leaders Forum on Jobs and the Economy at the White House.

The event, hosted by the White House Business Council and Business Forward, will host business leaders from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Delaware, Maryland, Maine, Vermont, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Connecticut and Rhode Island. Panto said Monday about 150 mayors will attend the forum.
